The Eighth is a superb golf hole. A Par 4, 398 yard
dog-leg right with a tighter fairway than many. If
this green is to be reached in regulation then the
drive must be kept left, giving an open shot over
diagonal cross bunkers. The ground draws towards the
bunker on the right corner of the green, set to trap
the weak shot. The Beech tree on the left is
approximately 150 yards from the green, while
another Beech on the right, dividing the fairways,
makes a substantial and tough obstacle to overcome
for those who drive down the right.
Pro's
Tip
Generous
tee shot, but only the long hitters will find a flat lie as
is characteristic of Tyrrells Wood.
A mid-iron
second shot played left of the flag could set up a
birdie
opportunity.
A
cavernous bunker awaits a weak approach!
