The Fifth has the rise of the ground against all the
way. The tee shot, over some heavy rough, needs to
be centred because bunkers on both sides of the
fairway are set to catch the wayward hit. A shot
sliced or pushed to the right may find its way to
the green barred by a line of Silver Birch. Another
bunker in the middle of the fairway has to be
carried if the plateau green, built into something
of a saddle shape and guarded by bunkers in each
front corner, is to be reached with the second shot.
Pro's
Tip
A medium
length uphill par 4.Thread your drive between the
numerous fairway bunkers in order to have a shot to
a well guarded green.
Be mindful of
the flag position on this long deceptive green which
contains several subtle borrows.
