Back across the road
is the Eleventh tee which is placed well back and
guarded on either side by thick spinneys. At 338
yards it is one of the best Par 4’s on the course.
The ground falls away slightly to the left into the
woods and rises onto a plateau where the good drive
should come to rest. A very accurate second shot is
essential here to carry humps and bunkers guarding
the approach, with trees on the left and right. A
weak shot will roll left into a large trap and a too
long approach going over the green will land you in
severe trouble with still more trees and rough. The
dip in the centre of this fairway was the Seventh
green of the original Braid layout, while on the
left are the remains of an earlier teeing area.
Pro's
Tip
An easy
hole for the longer hitter, but for most, a tricky second
shot from an uphill lie is challenging to say the least.
Keep to
the right as a bunker and a slope await any shot leaking to
the left!
